If you are confident enough to try and fit a new kitchen sink, you can buy the whole thing as flat pack kit that includes a cabinet, stainless steel bowl with the drainer at each side, to hole mixer tap, and all the parts that make up the U bend trap. If you are not confident in your ability call a professional plumbing service to fit the new unit. Hammersmith Plumbers can fit new sinks. Before you start you must ensure that the new unit will actually sit in the gap that the old one will leave. You can do this by placing the new unit into the gap and checking around the perimeter, making sure that are no gaps. You should, in the ideal world have an overlapping of the new unit that measures about half an inch around the edge. Caulk or silicone around the rim where the new unit will sit. This will form a seal. A Hammersmith Plumber will do this job. Now, place the new sink into the gap. Ensure that it sits level by constant measuring around the unit. Keep checking for gaps.It is now time to put the clamps on. These clamps should be able to hook into the grooves in the new unit and clamp to the underneath of the new unit and secure it. Use enough to make sure the sink is solid. With the new unit fixed in place, check again for its level and gaps. If any sealant has been squeezed out, then wipe away with old rags. Visually check that the sealant is uniform all the way around the new unit. There should be enough to keep it waterproof but not too much to make it look shoddy.
